Who is IFS for:

If you find yourself saying:

  • “I’m outwardly high-performing, but I feel like I am constantly at war with myself.”

  • “I cannot turn off the shame, self-criticism, guilt”

  • “In my relationships, sometimes something inside sabotages me and I flip into fight/flight/freeze.”

  • “I’m constantly managing parts of myself—an anxious part, an angry part, a people-pleasing part. I want to feel whole and in charge.”

This approach resonates for those who want to understand not just what they do, but why—and to lead from their core Self rather than being run by reactive parts.

What can IFS do for me?

  • Reduce self-criticism, shame, anxiety and over-control by befriending protective parts.

  • Heal trauma by gently accessing and un-burdening exiled parts, leading to more authenticity, freedom and ease.

  • Deepen self-leadership: make choices from your core Self (calm, clarity, compassion, connectedness, courage—sometimes called the “8 C’s”) rather than from parts acting out of fear or protection.

  • Improve relationships (romantic, personal, professional). As you become more led by Self, you will learn to respond rather than react and connect more from presence rather than protection.

The IFS approach:

  • We begin by identifying parts—your protectors, exiles, manager—and understanding their roles and stories.

  • Together we help you orient to your core Self—calm, curious, compassionate—with the therapist as guide.

  • We approach protector parts with respect; they are doing their job. This often involves dialogue, witnessing, and internal “meetings.”

  • When parts are ready (and trust is built) we gently support exiles to release burdens (shame, trauma, fear) and shift into healthy roles.

  • Over time the internal system becomes more coordinated, parts feel seen and heard, and you lead from your Self—more clarity, calm, creativity, connection.

  • As your inner system shifts, you’ll notice changes in your external world—relationships, work, self-regulation. We build tools and practices to maintain this integration.
