Therapy should be a place where you feel truly heard, seen, understood and supported. I strive to understand your experiences, values and culture holistically-whether you are coming to therapy individually or as part of a couple. Together, we can uncover your innermost thoughts, emotions and beliefs, their meaning specific to you and how they shape your relationships and patterns in ways you may wish to change.
I work with individuals and couples navigating life transitions, race- and gender-based stress, and interpersonal or familial conflict. In my couples work, I have a particular interest in supporting Asian couples and couples from multicultural backgrounds, where cultural values, family expectations, communication styles and emotional expression can add layers of complexity to the relationship. I also work with couples more broadly who are struggling with communication, differences in attachment needs, emotional distance, betrayal recovery or major decision-making.
I believe in serving as a guide, helping you (or both of you) better understand the dynamics at play, strengthen emotional connection and develop tools to move out of painful cycles. With couples, my goal is to help partners feel safer, more understood and more effective in how they communicate, especially during moments of conflict or disconnection. We will determine a pace and structure that feels appropriate, whether that means spending time understanding relational patterns, building concrete skills, processing past experiences or integrating all of these elements.
My therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based modalities such as CBT, ACT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing (MI), Internal Family Systems (IFS) alongside the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) for couples. I take a culturally responsive, trauma-informed approach that emphasizes self-awareness, emotional attunement, and practical change-helping individuals and couples challenge unhelpful patterns, build resilience and create more secure, satisfying relationships while honoring their unique identities, values, and backgrounds.

I began working with Dr. Stephanie during a period when anxiety was deeply affecting my daily life, including intense physical symptoms that felt overwhelming at the time. From the very beginning, she created a space that felt safe, steady, and genuinely supportive. Through our work together, she offered practical tools and thoughtful guidance that helped me understand and calm my anxiety, while also gently guiding me through deeper inner-child work that I didn’t realize I needed. I’m incredibly grateful for that chapter.
Dr. Chin was great to have as a therapist. She was respectful and I felt comfortable speaking with her about anything I had on my mind. She remained professional in all of our sessions and I would confidently recommend her!
Dr. Stephanie Chin helped me through a really hard time when I was chronically dealing with trauma and burnout from work. After a few months of working with her, I have made significant improvements on my cognitive thought processes in regards to my work schedule. Very objective and solution oriented, gives productive feedback and listens at the same time.
