Jacqueline Phung, PhD
(she/her)
psychologist
My work is rooted in the idea that the relationships we have with others — and with ourselves — are both the source of our deepest wounds and our greatest capacity for healing. I draw from a rich foundation of experientially-focused, evidence-based approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), to help clients tune more deeply into themselves and access their authentic core — and discover how that shift transforms the way they show up in their relationships, moving from self-protection to mutual connection and lasting change. Whether working with individuals or couples, I create a space where what has long felt stuck can begin to shift.
People I work with are usually facing something that feels both urgent and hard to name. Maybe a relationship has been painful for so long it’s starting to feel normal. Maybe something happened that broke trust, and neither person knows how to come back from it. Maybe trauma from the past keeps surfacing in the present in ways that are hard to explain. Or maybe there’s a quiet, nagging question about whether a relationship is still right — and no safe place to explore that honestly. I have advanced training in EFT Attachment Injury Repair, IFS-IFIO for intimate relationships, CPT for PTSD, and Discernment Counseling, and I draw on all of it depending on what you actually need.
I enjoy working with people who are willing to get curious — about themselves, about their patterns, about what they really want. That kind of honest self-examination isn’t easy, and I don’t take lightly what it means to be trusted with it. Outside of the office I pour that same curiosity into house restoration projects, which I love — there’s something about doing slow, careful work on something that matters and watching it come back to life. It’s not unlike what can happen in therapy. It is a genuine honor to be part of that process with the people I work with.
