Breakthrough Care When Nothing Else Has Worked

Have you tried therapy, lifestyle changes, medication and feel like you keep hitting wall? You continue to invest time, energy, financial resources but the dial isn’t budging on your symptoms.

Many people find that traditional approaches only go so far.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) offers a new, research-backed way to create lasting relief.

Our KAP is designed for those who experience:

  • Chronic anxiety that leaves you tense and restless

  • Trauma symptoms like flashbacks, numbness, or emotional disconnection

  • A sense of hopelessness or burnout from trying so many things that haven’t worked

  • Persistent depression that has been generally unresponsive to talk therapy and psychiatric medications

Or maybe you’re seeking deeper healing and clarity beyond traditional talk therapy

Clinical studies show that up to 70% of patients with treatment-resistant depression experience significant symptom relief after a series of ketamine sessions.

Promoting Neural Growth

Depression can diminish the connections between neurons. Ketamine stimulates the release of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), a protein that supports the growth and strengthening of these neural connections. This process, known as synaptogenesis, helps restore healthy brain function.

What is Ketamine-Assisted Therapy?

Ketamine is a safe, FDA-approved medication long used in medical settings. In recent years, it’s been recognized as a powerful treatment for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and chronic stress, especially when other treatments haven’t worked.

Ketamine works by:

  • Enhancing neuroplasticity, helping your brain form healthier pathways

  • Disrupting rigid thought loops that keep you stuck in depression or anxiety

  • Creating a temporary “reset” for your nervous system

  • Allowing deeper emotional insight and healing during therapy

Unlike traditional antidepressants, which can take weeks to work, ketamine can provide relief within hours to days—often after the very first session.

When combined with psychotherapy, ketamine helps you process emotions and patterns that once felt unreachable, creating a foundation for lasting change.

What Happens During ketamine treatment?

Each treatment experience is structured but personalized. Here is an example of the general structure of our approach to ketamine treatment.

A Note About Safety

Ketamine is a powerful tool, and like any treatment, it's not right for everyone. A thorough screening process ensures that ketamine-assisted therapy is a safe and appropriate fit for you. During every step of the journey, your safety, consent, and comfort are our highest priorities.

  • Meet with an Atlas therapist to discuss your symptoms, history, and goals. If it is determined that you are a good candidate for Ketamine treatment, you will be referred to Journey Clinical for your medical assessment.

  • A licensed medical provider reviews your health history to confirm ketamine is appropriate for you, discuss protocols, dosing and next steps.

  • Before your first ketamine session, you’ll spend time with your Atlas therapist discussing your goals, intentions, and emotional landscape. Preparation helps you feel safe and supported — and makes the actual experience more meaningful.

  • You’ll take your prescribed ketamine (typically a lozenge taken at home in a calm, private space or in our office). Your therapist will support you in real-time or in a follow-up session.

Sessions are scheduled for 3 hours.

  • Afterward, you’ll meet with your therapist to process the experience, explore insights, and integrate them into your daily life. This session must take place within 2 days of your dosing session to maximize your results.

Location

All in-person ketamine treatment will take place in a warm, inviting space that you will look forward to spending time in. The office is located in NoMad in New York City.

Ketamine interacts with a neurotransmitter called glutamate, which plays a crucial role in brain communication. By modulating glutamate levels, ketamine enhances the activity of certain brain receptors, leading to improved neural connectivity.
