associate psychotherapist
Jennifer Aghavian, LMSW
She/her
I work with individuals and couples who are looking to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that may be keeping them stuck. My approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply relational, with a focus on the emotions and attachment needs underneath anxiety, self-criticism, relationship difficulties, and other patterns that can feel difficult to change. I draw from attachment-based, experiential, trauma-informed, and psychodynamic approaches, while incorporating practical tools when they are helpful. I believe meaningful therapy involves creating a space where you feel genuinely understood and safe to explore vulnerable parts of yourself, while developing new ways of relating to yourself and others.
My Philosophy
Our work involves developing new ways of relating to yourself and others, with greater awareness of what matters to you and more choice in how you respond.
I have a particular interest in working with young adults, adult children of immigrants, and clients exploring cultural, religious, and family expectations. I also work with couples experiencing attachment differences, communication difficulties, and challenges with emotional connection. My work often explores how early relationships, family dynamics, and past experiences shape the ways we understand ourselves and connect with others. Together, we can slow down and make sense of what is happening beneath the surface, creating greater clarity, connection, and a stronger sense of intentionality in your life.
